1
START Triage - Red Tag Criteria
Immediate: Respiration > 30/min, absent radial pulse or cap refill > 2 sec, or inability to follow simple commands.
2
START Triage - Black Tag Definition
Expectant / Deceased: Casualty remains apneic even after manual opening and clearing of the airway.
3
Adult BLS Chest Compression Rate and Depth
Rate: 100 to 120 compressions per minute; Depth: At least 2 inches (5 cm) but not exceeding 2.4 inches (6 cm).
4
Shockable Cardiac Arrest Rhythms
Ventricular Fibrillation (VF) and pulseless Ventricular Tachycardia (pVT).
5
Non-Shockable Cardiac Arrest Rhythms
Asystole and Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA).
6
ACLS Epinephrine Dosing in Cardiac Arrest
1 mg IV/IO every 3 to 5 minutes, followed by a 20 mL IV flush.
7
ACLS Amiodarone Dosing in Refractory VF/pVT
First dose: 300 mg IV/IO bolus; Second dose: 150 mg IV/IO bolus if shockable rhythm persists.
8
Symptomatic Bradycardia First-Line Medication
Atropine 1 mg IV push every 3 to 5 minutes, up to a maximum cumulative dose of 3 mg.
9
Narrow-Complex SVT First-Line Pharmacotherapy
Adenosine 6 mg rapid IV push followed immediately by 20 mL saline flush; repeat with 12 mg if unsuccessful.
10
Cushing Triad for Elevated Intracranial Pressure
Widened pulse pressure (systolic hypertension), bradycardia, and irregular respirations.
11
Target Cerebral Perfusion Pressure in TBI
60 to 70 mmHg (calculated as Mean Arterial Pressure minus Intracranial Pressure).
12
Beck Triad for Cardiac Tamponade
Arterial hypotension, distended jugular neck veins, and muffled or distant heart sounds.
13
Tension Pneumothorax Emergency Decompression Landmark
2nd intercostal space midclavicular line or 4th/5th intercostal space anterior axillary line.
14
Tube Thoracostomy (Chest Drain) Safe Insertion Zone
4th or 5th intercostal space along the anterior or mid-axillary line, above the lower rib.
15
Tibial Intraosseous (IO) Cannulation Site
Flat medial surface of the proximal tibia, approximately 2 cm distal and 1 to 2 cm medial to the tibial tuberosity.
16
Adult Lumbar Puncture Anatomical Level
L3-L4 or L4-L5 intervertebral space (at the level of the superior iliac crests), well below the conus medullaris.
17
ARDS Lung-Protective Ventilation Tidal Volume
4 to 8 mL per kilogram of predicted body weight, targeting plateau pressure < 30 cmH2O.
18
Severe Hyperkalemia Membrane-Stabilizing Agent
Intravenous Calcium Gluconate (10 mL of 10% solution administered over 2 to 3 minutes).
19
Unfractionated Heparin Antidote
Protamine sulfate (1 mg neutralizes approximately 100 units of unfractionated heparin).
20
Warfarin Rapid Reversal in Severe Hemorrhage
Four-factor Prothrombin Complex Concentrate (4-Factor PCC) with concurrent IV Vitamin K1.
21
UAE Medical Liability Law Gross Medical Error Assessment
Evaluated and determined by the specialized Medical Liability Committee under Federal Decree-Law No. 4 of 2016.
22
UAE Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting Law

At least 5 years from the date of the patient's last clinical encounter under UAE federal health regulations.
24
Clostridioides difficile Hand Hygiene Requirement
Mechanical hand washing with soap and running water (alcohol rubs do not eradicate bacterial endospores).
25
