Complete the sentence about Rubens House with the correct year: Purchased in ______, Rubens had the Flemish townhouse renovated and extended on the basis of designs by Rubens himself.
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: B. 1610
The Rubenshuis in Antwerp is the former home and workshop of Peter Paul Rubens, now a museum. Rubens bought the Flemish townhouse in 1610 and had it renovated and extended to his own designs, giving the house and courtyard garden the look of an Italian palazzo. Rubens lived from 1577 to 1640, so 1635 came late.
