A plant is moved from bright light to darkness. What happens to the levels of GP and RuBP in the Calvin cycle?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. GP increases and RuBP decreases
- Step 1: Without light, ATP and reduced NADP run out. Step 2. GP cannot be reduced so it builds up, and less RuBP is regenerated. Answer: GP up, RuBP down. Why not the others: these misread the cycle.
