In the reaction 2H2 + O2 gives 2H2O, how many grams of water are formed from 4 g of hydrogen? (H = 1, O = 16)
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. 36 g
- Step 1: 4 g of H2 is 2 mol. Step 2. 2 mol of H2 gives 2 mol of H2O, which is 2 x 18 = 36 g. Answer: 36 g. Why not the others: these use the wrong mole ratio.
