Two trains are 300 km apart and travel toward each other at 70 km/h and 80 km/h. After how many hours do they meet?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: D. 2 hours
- Step 1: The gap closes at 70 + 80 = 150 km/h. Step 2. 300 / 150 = 2 hours. Answer: 2 hours. Why not the others: these use one speed or the wrong total.
