According to the passage, what problem did bike sharing solve?
Bike-sharing schemes began to appear in Chinese cities around 2015 and spread within two years to hundreds of towns. Users open up a bicycle with a phone, ride to their destination and leave the bike at the roadside. The idea is simple, and it solved the problem of the last kilometre between a bus or metro stop and a final destination. However, success brought trouble. Companies put far more bicycles on the streets than were needed, and in some cities piles of unwanted bikes blocked pavements. City governments responded with rules on how many bikes each company may place and where users may park. Today the number of bikes is smaller, but each one is used more often.
