Complete the sentence about Katipunan with the correct year: Modern historical consensus generally places Katipunan's formation on the night of July 7, ______, following Rizal's arrest.
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. 1892
The Katipunan was the secret society behind the Philippine Revolution. Historians generally place its founding on the night of 7 July 1892, soon after José Rizal's arrest, in a house on Azcárraga Street in San Nicolas, Manila. The revolution it launched was already under way in 1896, so 1897 and 1902 are too late for its formation, and 1877 is long before the 1892 events.
