Dinagyang is a festival in Iloilo, once known as the Iloilo Ati-Atihan. The Ilonggo broadcaster and writer Pacifico Sumagpao Sudario coined the name Dinagyang in 1977, to tell it apart from the Ati-Atihan of Aklan. That same year an actual Ati tribe from Barotac Viejo was invited for the first time. The year 1967 is when the devotion to the Santo Niño was introduced in Iloilo, not when the name was coined.
