A force of 1000 N acts on an area of 0.2 m². What pressure does it exert?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. 5000 Pa
- Step 1: Pressure = force ÷ area. Step 2. p = 1000 ÷ 0.2 = 5000 Pa. Answer: 5000 Pa. Why not the others: 200 Pa is what you get if you multiply the force by the area. 0.0002 Pa is what you get if you invert the formula. 50000 Pa is what you get if you move the decimal point.
