A device on a 24 V supply draws 0.5 A. What is its power?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: D. 12 W
- Step 1: Power P = VI. Step 2. P = 24 × 0.5 = 12 W. Answer: 12 W. Why not the others: 48 W is what you get if you divide V by I. 24.5 W is what you get if you add the numbers. 6 W is what you get if you square the current.
