A force of 200 N acts on an area of 0.5 m². What pressure does it exert?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. 400 Pa
- Step 1: Pressure = force ÷ area. Step 2. p = 200 ÷ 0.5 = 400 Pa. Answer: 400 Pa. Why not the others: 100 Pa is what you get if you multiply the force by the area. 0.003 Pa is what you get if you invert the formula. 4000 Pa is what you get if you move the decimal point.
