What have researchers in London asked for?
In recent years, beekeeping has become popular in several large cities. Rooftop hives now exist in Paris, London and New York, and some hotels serve honey produced on their own roofs. Supporters claim that city bees often find more varied food than country bees, because gardens and parks flower across different months. However, some scientists warn that too many urban hives may compete with wild pollinators for limited food. Researchers in London have therefore called for a survey of how many hives the city's flowers can support.
