What does red mean in the colour code?
Nutrition labels on food packages show the amount of energy, fat, sugar and salt per 100 grams. This allows shoppers to compare products of different package sizes. Many labels also use a colour code: green for a low amount, yellow for a medium amount and red for a high amount. Experts advise looking mainly at the sugar and salt values, because most people eat more of both than is recommended. However, labels show only the content of a single product, not the whole diet.
