What is the pressure due to a column of liquid of density 1000 kg/m³ and depth 2 m? (take g = 10 m/s²)
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: C. 20000 Pa
- Step 1: Pressure = ρgh. Step 2. p = 1000 × 10 × 2 = 20000 Pa. Answer: 20000 Pa. Why not the others: 2000 Pa is what you get if you leave out g. 10000 Pa is what you get if you halve the result. 120000 Pa is what you get if you add atmospheric pressure.
