Which sentence is punctuated correctly?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. "Come here," she said, "and look at this."
- Step 1: Commas separate the quotation from the speaker tag, and the end punctuation stays inside the quotation marks. Answer: "Come here," she said, "and look at this.". Why not the others: "Come here" she said, "and look at this.", "Come here," she said "and look at this". and "Come here", she said, "and look at this." don't fit.
