The HCF of two numbers is 6 and their LCM is 132. One number is 66. What is the other?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. 12
- Step 1: The product of two numbers = HCF × LCM = 6 × 132 = 792. Step 2. Other number = 792 ÷ 66 = 12. Answer: 12. Why not the others: 2 is what you get if you divide LCM by the given number. 36 is what you get if you multiply the HCF by itself. 66 is what you get if you subtract from the LCM.
