What is the pressure due to a column of liquid of density 800 kg/m³ and depth 20 m? (take g = 10 m/s²)
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: B. 160000 Pa
- Step 1: Pressure = ρgh. Step 2. p = 800 × 10 × 20 = 160000 Pa. Answer: 160000 Pa. Why not the others: 16000 Pa is what you get if you leave out g. 80000 Pa is what you get if you halve the result. 260000 Pa is what you get if you add atmospheric pressure.
