Which sentence is correct?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. Elle s'est lavé les mains
- Step 1: In reflexive verbs the participle agrees with a preceding direct object. Step 2. Here the reflexive se is an indirect object, and the direct object les mains comes after, so no agreement. Answer: elle s'est lavé les mains. Why not the others: the other forms add an agreement that does not apply or use the wrong form.
