An arithmetic sequence has first term 3 and common difference 4. What is the 10th term?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: B. 39, from a + 9d
- Step 1: Use a₁₀ = a + 9d. Step 2. 3 + 36 = 39. Answer: 39. Why not the others: 43 uses 10d, 40 comes from 4 × 10 without the first term, and 36 is 9d only.
