A superfast train travelling at 90 km/h crosses a 350-metre-long railway platform in 22 seconds. What is the length of the train?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: B. 200 metres
- Step 1: Speed in m/s = 90 * (5/18) = 25 m/s.
- Step 2: Total distance covered in 22 seconds = 25 * 22 = 550 metres.
- Step 3: Total distance = Length of train + Length of platform.
- Step 4: Length of train = 550 - 350 = 200 metres.
