Answer and explanation

Correct answer: A. World Food Programme (WFP)

  1. Step 1: Established in 1961 at the behest of US President Dwight D. Eisenhower following a field experiment by George McGovern, it operates aircraft, ships, and trucks worldwide.
  2. Step 2: The World Food Programme (WFP), headquartered in Rome, was honored with the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize for acting as the primary logistics backbone during global humanitarian emergencies.
Answer
World Food Programme (WFP)
Why not the others: 'Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)' The FAO is a policy and standards agency in Rome, not the frontline emergency operational food distributor; 'International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement' The Red Cross is an independent humanitarian movement based in Geneva, not a UN body; 'United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)' UNHCR is the UN refugee agency in Geneva that won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1954 and 1981.
