Which finding would most strengthen the claim that reading aloud works? (Passage: Reading aloud)
Teachers in one district began setting aside twenty minutes each day for reading aloud to pupils aged seven to nine. After a year, pupils' vocabulary test scores had risen by an average of 8 points, compared with 3 points in a neighbouring district that had not changed its timetable. The two districts were similar in size and funding. However, the first district also introduced a new phonics programme during the same year, and the researchers could not separate the effects of the two changes.
