What is the minimum distance from a junction within which the Highway Code says you must not park, other than in an authorised space?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: C. 10 metres
- Step 1: Parked vehicles near a junction block the view of other drivers and of people crossing the side road. Step 2. Rule 243 sets that distance at 10 m, and it also bans parking opposite a junction. Answer: 10 metres. Why not the others: 5 m would still hide the corner from emerging drivers, and 15 m and 20 m are longer than the distance the Code gives.
