What is 2/3 + 1/4?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: C. 11/12
- Step 1: Use a common denominator of 12: 2/3 = 8/12 and 1/4 = 3/12.
- Step 2: Add: 8/12 + 3/12 = 11/12.
Answer
11/12.
Why not the others: 3/7 adds the tops and bottoms, 3/12 adds only the 1/4 part wrongly, and 5/6 results from 10/12 which uses a wrong equivalent for 2/3.
