Using the two-second rule, what gap in metres should you leave behind the car ahead when travelling at 90 km/h?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: D. 50 m
- Step 1: At 90 km/h the car covers 25 m every second. Step 2. Two seconds covers 2 x 25 = 50 m. Answer: 50 m. Why not the others: 25 m: 25 m is only a one-second gap. 45 m: 45 m halves the km/h figure and ignores the conversion. 75 m: 75 m is a three-second gap.
