What surprised Li Na at the first cooking lesson?

Li Na never cooked while she lived with her parents, and when she moved to university she lived on instant noodles. After a month she felt tired and had spent more money than she expected. A friend invited her to a cooking club run by students. The first lesson was a plain tomato and egg dish, and, to her surprise, it was ready in ten minutes. Over the term she learned to plan meals for the week and to shop in bulk with friends. She now cooks three evenings a week and says that she saves money and enjoys the chance to talk to her classmates while they eat.
