According to the passage on honeybees, what do bees collect from flowers to make honey?
Honeybees visit flowers to collect nectar, which they turn into honey. While feeding, pollen sticks to their bodies and is carried to the next flower they visit, allowing many plants to produce seeds and fruit. Scientists estimate that a large share of the crops people eat depend at least partly on pollinating insects. In recent years some beekeepers have reported sharp drops in the number of their hives. Researchers are still studying the causes, and they have suggested that several factors, including disease and pesticides, may work together.
