Why does a shoot grow towards a light source?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: C. Auxin collects on the shaded side
- Step 1: Auxin is made at the shoot tip and moves away from light. Step 2. Cells on the shaded side elongate more, so the shoot bends towards the light. Answer: auxin on the shaded side. Why not the others: the lit side would bend the shoot away, and auxin is made at the tip, not in the roots.
