A driver reduces speed from 70 mph to 50 mph. Using the typical overall figures, how many metres are saved?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: B. 43 metres
- Step 1: Overall at 70 mph is 96 m and at 50 mph it is 53 m. Step 2. 96 - 53 = 43 m. Answer: 43 metres. Why not the others: 23 m is the 30 mph distance, 53 m is the 50 mph distance itself and 96 m is the 70 mph distance itself.
