Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and your rights.
This page explains what personal information GetMyMockTest handles, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it so that a 13-year-old can read it.
Who we are
GetMyMockTest is a free exam-practice website run by K Network Live, West Bengal, India, 742134. We decide what is collected and why (in legal terms we are the "controller" or "data fiduciary").
Privacy contact and grievance contact: [email protected]. Write "Privacy" in the subject. You can also use the contact form and choose "Privacy", or the data requests page.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your name, your country, the exam you are preparing for, and the account type you chose (student, teacher, parent or school). If you sign in with Google we receive your name and email address from Google, never your Google password.
- Date of birth: we ask for it only to check that you are old enough. It is stored privately on your account, is never shown to teachers, parents, schools or other users, and cannot be changed later.
- Study activity: the cards you review, the practice questions you answer (including which ones you got wrong, so we can build a short practice set for you), the tests you take, your scores, how long you spent on each question, whether you marked an answer as a guess, your streak, and the things you save.
- Groups: the classes, schools, family groups or study groups you belong to, your role in them, homework results, and the nickname you choose in a study group.
- Things you create: flashcard sets and test questions you write, pictures you upload to them, and whether you share a set by link.
- Messages you send us: through the contact form, the Feedback button or "Report a problem". We keep the text, the page you were on (without anything after a question mark in the address), your email address if you give one, and your account number if you are signed in.
- Technical information: when you use the site our server records your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and your browser type, in server logs and in your sign-in session. We use this to keep the site working and secure.
We do not collect payment details (the site is free), we do not use advertising or tracking services, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Why we use it, and our legal grounds
| What we do | Why | Ground (where such grounds apply) |
|---|---|---|
| Create your account, sign you in, show your progress and practice sets | To give you the service you asked for | Contract; necessary to provide the service |
| Check your age | To keep children under 13 out and to protect teenagers | Legal obligation and legitimate interests |
| Let teachers, schools and family owners see progress of people in their group | The purpose of classes and family groups | Contract; your or your guardian's choice to join |
| Send sign-in codes, homework reminders and (for family owners) a weekly family summary | To run the service | Contract; legitimate interests |
| Keep the site secure, stop abuse, fix faults | To protect everyone | Legitimate interests; legal obligation |
| Answer your messages and reports | To help you and improve the site | Legitimate interests; your request |
| Use your country (from the address you pick, or from your IP address) to show the right exams first | To make the site useful | Legitimate interests |
Where the law requires your consent we ask for it, and you may withdraw it at any time.
Who can see it
- You always see your own data.
- Teachers and school admins see the progress of students in their classes, and a combined summary of the topics a class finds hard (no names). Family owners see the same for the people in their family group. In a study group, other members see only your chosen nickname, and see your progress only if you choose to share it, and only when at least two members share.
- Anyone with the link can open a set you share by link. Private sets are visible only to you.
- Our administrators can see account and report information when needed to run, secure and moderate the service.
- Your date of birth is never shown to anyone except administrators who need it to resolve a problem with your account.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers who handle data only on our instructions:
- Hosting: our server is rented from Contabo and is located in France (European Union).
- Google, only if you choose "Continue with Google". Google's own privacy policy applies to what Google does.
- Content delivery and security: we use Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) to deliver the site faster and to protect it from attacks and abuse. Requests to the site, including your IP address and the pages you ask for, pass through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare handles this only to provide that service, under its data processing terms.
- Email delivery: today our own server sends our emails. If we start using an email delivery service, we will name it on this page before we do, and sign terms that protect your data.
- Visitor country lookup: IP geolocation uses a database from DB-IP.com (db-ip.com) that is stored on our own server, so your IP address is not sent to DB-IP.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the safety of someone using the site.
Where your data is kept
Your data is stored on our server in France. If you use the site from another country, your information travels to France. Cloudflare runs servers in many countries, including the United States, and your requests may be handled in a country close to you or in the United States. Where information is transferred to another country, we rely on a lawful transfer method, for example the standard contractual clauses in Cloudflare's data processing terms. If we later use another provider in another country, we will do the same and say so here.
How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account and study data | Until you delete your account |
| Deleted data in backups | Up to about 14 days, then overwritten |
| Sign-in codes | Valid for 10 minutes; used and expired codes are deleted within a day |
| Sign-in cookie | 30 days, or until you sign out |
| Practice tests taken without an account | 7 days if never claimed by an account |
| Sign-in sessions (with IP address) | Up to 30 days after last use |
| Server logs (IP address, page, time) | Up to 12 months |
| Feedback and contact messages | Until dealt with, and then up to 2 years |
| Weekly family summary record (which week was sent) | With the parent's account |
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent you gave. Most of this is in Settings (download your data, delete your account). For anything else write to [email protected] or use the data requests page. We reply within 30 days, and sooner when we can. We may need to check that you are who you say you are.
You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (for example the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, your national authority in the EU, the Data Protection Board of India, or the ANPD in Brazil). We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
California and similar laws: we do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context advertising.
India: you may nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or cannot do so, and you may contact our grievance contact above. Brazil: the person in charge of data-protection questions is reachable at the same address.
Children and teenagers
- You must be at least 13 to create an account. We ask for your date of birth and do not create accounts for anyone younger. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it.
- If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you sign up. In some countries the law sets an age above 13 (up to 16 in parts of Europe, and 18 in India and some other countries) below which a parent or guardian must agree. If that applies to you, you need their permission to use the site.
- We do not show advertising to anyone, we do not track children for advertising, and the site has no public chat and no public profiles.
- Parents and guardians can ask us to see or delete their child's data at any time: see the Parents and teenagers page.
- Schools that use the site with students are responsible for having the permissions required where they are. Write to us if your school needs a data processing agreement.
Cookies and similar storage
See our Cookie Notice. We use only what is needed to keep you signed in and remember your choices. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Security
Connections use HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, and access to personal data is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach that is likely to harm you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires. To report a security problem, see /.well-known/security.txt.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell signed-in users.
