In a town, 180 students chose science and 250 chose commerce. What is the ratio of science to commerce students in simplest form?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. 18 : 25
- Step 1: Divide both terms by their HCF 10. Step 2. 180 : 250 = 18 : 25. Answer: 18 : 25. Why not the others: 25 : 18 is what you get if you invert the ratio. 180 : 250 is what you get if you leave the ratio unsimplified. 19 : 25 is what you get if you miscount a term.
