A shop sold 74, 25, 87 and 89 units in four successive quarters. What percentage of the yearly total was sold in quarter 2?
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: C. 9.1%
- Step 1: Yearly total = 275. Step 2. Share = 25 ÷ 275 × 100 = 9.1%. Answer: 9.1%. Why not the others: 10% is what you get if you divide by the other quarters only. 25% is what you get if you report the units as a percentage. 28.1% is what you get if you compare with the best quarter.
