How to practise biology.
- 1
Learn diagrams by drawing them
Sketch the cell, the heart or the nephron from memory, then check. Drawing fixes the labels better than reading.
- 2
Link structure to function
For every part, ask what it looks like and why that suits its job. It turns lists into reasons.
- 3
Say it in one sentence
After each chapter, write one sentence for each process. If you cannot, that is the part to revise.
- 4
Watch the exact words
Many wrong options differ from the right one by a single word, such as 'always', 'only' or 'all'.
- 5
Redo your mistakes after a week
Repeat the questions you got wrong after a few days. That is when a fact either sticks or fades.
