- Step 1: Total = 198 + 150 + 141 + 74 + 82 = 645. Step 2. Average = 645 ÷ 5 = 129. Answer: 129. Why not the others: 141 is what you get if you give the median. 645 is what you get if you forget to divide by 5. 124 is what you get if you give the range.
